Dragon
Hard tough scales on a leathery hide
Like jewels adorning
Horns atop
A crest of might
Talons glisten as a ray strikes
Wings spread wide
Tools for flight
So delicate
So powerful
Carrying to the heavens
Eyes of dark amber
Doors to another world beyond our hearts
No existence for some
For others there’s truth
Legends and myths
A creature of dreams
So real
So false
Imagination soars when we see
This
That never existed
Yet lives on
Dragon.
